Meet the President.

My Early life

I was born on the 30th of January 1946 in a small town of South Africa in the administrative area of Hlankomo in Mount Fletcher. I did lower standards at Hlankomo Bantu Community School. In 1960 I did standard 6 and passed with first class at Athlone Bantu Community School at Cashel Avenue in Cape Town.

I proceeded to Mariazel Institution at Matatiele in the RSA, there we were dismissed because of a strike in 1961. I went to Lehana Secondary School where I completed Form Three ( Std 8 ) in 1965. I did STD 10 (Form V) at Langa High School in Cape Town and passed with Matriculation Examination with distinctions in History and Biology in 1967.

In 1968 I went to Fort Hare University College and Completed South African Teachers Diploma (SATD). I had initially enrolled for Attorney’s admission Certificate. Because of the bad records of the strikes I was involved in, I was refused entrance.

 

I am married and blessed with 10 children, my home language is Xhosa, Other languages that I speak write and read are English, Afrikaans, Southern Sesotho and Zulu and a bit of Sepedi, Setswana, Sindebele and Siswazi.

 

My hobbies are Debating, Rugby, Soccer and Squash. I was a head prefect of Langa High School and also Captain of Rugby team. I also played for the Western Province Rugby team.

 

I obtained a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Transkei (presently Walter Sisulu University) in 1981 and 1986 respectively. I passed Further Diploma in Educational Management (FDE) from1996 to 1997) with Educational management I & II Law of Education and Finances of Education. I further enrolled for a masters degree in education with University of the North (Presently University of Limpompo )

 

Work Experience:

1970-1971 Taught at Lehana High School as an assistant teacher,

1972-1977 Promoted to a post of a Vice Principal at Moiketsi High School also in Mount Fletcher.

1977-1982 Promoted to Mhlontlo Junior Secondary School as Principal.

1982-1986 Transferred to Sibi Senior Secondary School as principal in Matatiele. This was a boarding School with enrolment of up to 1500 students,

1986-1993 Transferred to Mhlontlo Senior Secondary School state as a Principal.

1993-1994 Appointed at University of the North as lecturer in Educational Psychology.

1994-1995 Promoted to a position of area manager (Circuit Inspector) at Cala and  Mount Fletcher. This position was equal to a district manager of Education. I enrolled for a Master’s Degree with the University of the North. The tittle for my Dissertation was: Attitude of lecturers and Student teachers in Transkei Colleges of Education towards the use of Technological material in the teaching of History.

 

 

Community Involvement:

1971 to date- Preacher –Sub – deacon Anglican church

1973-1977 Branch President of Transkei Teachers Association.

1976-1980 President of Mt Fletcher, Teachers burial Association

1992-1981 Chair persons of Principals Organisation-Matatiele district

I was always involved in Winter School-Teaching in Geography

2000 – Chairperson of MaclearEmerging farmers Union

Deputy president of Famers Union -Joe Gqabi District

President of Nafcoc Joe Gqabi District.

2009- To date Provincial Treasurer Nafcoc.

2010- Provincial Treasurer Mbiasa (Eastern Cape)

-Always involved in community development.
